Dr. Evans is an an award-winning teacher, accomplished author, and sought-after speaker on educational reform. He is a former Principal of the Year and Chief Academic Officer. He led innovative instructional change in one of the nation’s largest school districts, and the district earned its highest achievement scores in reading, math, and science in its history. His expertise in literacy best practices and high-impact instructional strategies drives his passion for what works in schools. Like so many children in our schools, Dan stared down his own childhood struggles and turned despair and defeat into a lifetime of success through faith and love for children. He still believes in the power of schools and in the brilliance of teachers to change the trajectory of children’s lives, as it did for him so many years ago.
