Remarkable Learning
Building Creative and Confident Kids
All children can learn at exceedingly high levels, no matter their backgrounds or struggles. Every one of our students can develop academic self-confidence and emotional well-being, all the while gaining a deep understanding of their purpose and place in the world. Across the K-12 landscape, we can create classrooms that are challenging and exhilarating places to be, both for our students and our teachers.
We seek to identify and master the right strategies by drawing on the expertise of our top educators and reviewing the latest findings from cognitive research. In celebration of teachers everywhere, let’s work together to pinpoint what really works in our classrooms without the tricks and shortcuts. If we listen and learn from our top teachers and principals, we can isolate the key actions that all schools must have in place for students to excel, and for everyone to enjoy school again.

So, what really works in our classrooms?

What I think. My vote. STRATEGY BRACKET
We challenge all teachers to complete a bracket and join the conversation. The bracket is free and open to all educators. Your individual responses are anonymous. We will tabulate the results and post them here. Our brackets and surveys are central to our work in determining why some strategies and interventions work great, and others not so much. Yes, some things really do impact learning more than others, and having that discussion should be ongoing and collegial. Join us!

Evidence-Based Practices
What the science tells us. RESEARCH FINDINGS
We value the ongoing research in learning theory and cognitive science that helps us pinpoint what works in our classrooms and highlights the impact of strategies and interventions. Yes, we are data nerds who like to discuss things like effect sizes, correlation, and causation. Though the research is helpful, we trust our practitioners first and foremost. Why? Because the research should inform our debate, but it should not settle it for us.
